Gucci Babouska Boston Bag (With Flower Detail)

Inspired by Deysa’s post about Juicy Couture’s Beach Flower Tote, I decided to do my own post on a flower-appliquéd handbag. I came across this Gucci Joy Boston Bag pictured above. This bag features the classic GG signature pattern in white with black crocodile trim. I find the black and white aspect of the bag quite appealing actually. However, for some reason, Gucci felt it would be a good idea to embellish this bag with pinwheel-like flowers and grommets. Perhaps an elegant floral pattern printed directly on the fabric would have been a better choice. ( Chanel Wallet )

Funny Side-Note: Over at the Bag Forum the other day, we were discussing - or rather, joking - about how Gucci likes to have a zillion different bags with the same name. The Gucci Joy Boston Bag pictured above is one of several bags all named the Joy Boston Bag. Why isn’t there any distinction between them? Who knows, but it does make things rather confusing when trying to do a web search for a particular Gucci style.

I was going to write the title "classcial Chanel bags" but then I realised that these classical bags must have a name so I went onto the Chanel site and found out that the classical Chanels are actually called the Chanel flap bags. I fell head over heels in love with the ultimately expensive Gucci Crocodile Hysteria Bag. The price is not practical for me at all, but the color, the feel, the shape, was beautiful. The house of Burberry is a popular luxury British company. Like most popular designer names, Burberry possesses a well recognized trademark. Rather than logos, Burberry is distinguished by its distinctive checkered pattern. Personally, I’m not crazy over the pattern; I prefer to think of it as pleasant instead. Reasons being that some items produced by the House of Burberry, I adore, while other items simply appear tacky to me.

Today, I spotted the Burberry Patchwork Check Bucket Bag. I consider this handbag to be a bit too exaggerating. Burberry attempted to give the signature checkered pattern a nice twist, but personally, I’m not really feeling it. I can’t imagine myself carrying this one bag around town. No offense Burberry, but this patchwork bag looks like a total knockoff! Why the irregular pattern? Isn’t an uneven pattern a major red flag when distinguishing an authentic Burberry bag over a fake bag? In my preferences, I certainly wouldn’t buy an authentic Burberry bag containing such an obvious uneven lining.

Gucci Black Medium Babouska Heart Tote

Some people dream of Chocolate; I dream of Gucci. I have looked at this Babouska Heart Tote at least 10 times in the past two days and have hesitated to review it. Only because I know hard it is to put into words extreme adoration; ok, let’s face it: obsession. This handbag is a supreme gem for this coming Fall and Winter. Not only does it exude biker chic with it’s rich black leather exterior, it also adds a touch of femininity with the heart-shaped Gucci emblem. It’s hard to increase the seductiveness of this bag, yet somehow the designers at Gucci successfully bring in a third variant: vintage appeal. The brass accents on this darling complete the triple threat. But, alas, at $2,195 from the Gucci Shop, I think I will just have to keep dreaming.

Two Beckhams and a Hermes Birkin

Frankly, I don’t know which I want more: the delicious David Beckham, or the to-die-for Hermes Birkin Victoria’s toting. Hmmm…how about the Birkin, hand-delivered by David? Though I love love love the purse, I’m not crazy about Posh’s questionable airport ensemble. The burgundy top is nice, and looks great against the taupe bag, but those painted-on leather leggings just aren’t cutting it (how’d you like to sit on a plane in those circulation-blocking babies?). And, not to get too picky, but Posh’s beige trilby clashes with the bag. But hey, nobody’s perfect. Except for David, I mean.
